Chris’s debtor/creditor experience includes debt workouts, bankruptcy reorganizations, creditors’ rights, and complex bankruptcy and tax dischargeability litigation. Chris has extensive experience in representing individual and business debtors, financial institutions, private lenders and investors, secured and unsecured creditors, landlords, and distressed asset buyers. Chris has conducted bench and jury trials in State Court, U.S. Tax Court, and Bankruptcy Court. Chris’s strong bankruptcy and litigation background has allowed him to aggressively and efficiently obtain favorable results for his bankruptcy clients. Chris has aggressively represented creditors in several complex, high-profile cases, including the Mortgages, Ltd., Bashas’ Inc., and Blockbuster, Inc. bankruptcies. Chris has also appeared on behalf of creditors in bankruptcy cases outside of Washington, including cases in California, Arizona, Tennessee, Florida, and New York.
Chris is also deeply involved in CLG’s Tax Practice. Chris’ tax experience includes representation of taxpayers in collection matters, offers in compromise and installment agreements, appeals, and tax controversy litigation before the U.S. Tax Court.
